Located in the bucolic splendor of the White Mountain National Forest, Franconia Notch State Park is an eight-mile mountain pass that exudes the beauty and splendor of the New Hampshire wilderness. The park stretches along Interstate 93, from the scenic Flume Gorge in the south, to the crystal clear waters of Echo Lake in the north. The park was once the home of the historic "Old Man of the Mountain" statue, but, sadly in 2003 an avalanche wiped it out of existence.
